Finding Your Moment of KoZi ♡

Self-care doesn't have to be expensive.

It doesn't have to involve a spa day, an elaborate morning routine or completely changing your life.

Sometimes self-care is simply recognising that you need a moment for yourself — and allowing yourself to take it.

Life can be busy. Work, family, relationships, responsibilities, the house, the never-ending list of things we should be doing... sometimes we spend so much time looking after everything and everyone else that we forget to check in with ourselves.

At The KoZi Co., we believe in finding those little moments.

The ones that make you breathe a little deeper.

The ones that quieten your mind.

The ones that make you feel a little bit more like you again.

Here are some of our favourite ways to find your moment of KoZi.

🌿 Get outside

There is something about being outdoors that can make the world feel a little quieter.

Go for a walk through a field. Wander through the woods. Sit in the garden with a cup of tea. Find somewhere peaceful, put your phone away for a little while and actually notice what's around you.

Listen to the birds. Feel the breeze. Look at the sky.

You don't need to achieve anything.

Just be there.

🐾 Take the dogs

If you're an animal lover like me, you'll know that sometimes the best therapy has four legs and absolutely no concept of personal space.

Take the dogs somewhere beautiful and let them remind you how simple happiness can be.

They don't care about tomorrow's meeting, the washing pile or the email you haven't replied to.

They're just there.

Running through a field. Sniffing something questionable. Living completely in the moment.

We could probably learn a lot from them.

🧘 Find five minutes of stillness

Meditation doesn't have to mean sitting perfectly still for an hour with a completely empty mind.

Find five or ten minutes somewhere comfortable.

Close your eyes. Take some slow breaths. Hold a favourite crystal if that helps you focus, put on some calming music or simply sit in silence.

Thoughts will pop into your head. That's okay.

Acknowledge them and gently come back to your breathing.

Sometimes five quiet minutes is enough to reset a difficult day.

✨ Make something

One of my favourite forms of self-care is crafting.

There's something wonderful about using the creative part of your brain after spending all day thinking, organising, problem-solving and generally adulting.

Paint. Crochet. Make jewellery. Colour. Knit. Journal. Build something. Get the glue gun out.

And don't worry about whether it's perfect.

You're not doing it to be good at it. You're doing it because it feels good to create.

🛁 Make personal grooming feel like care

Sometimes looking after yourself physically can have a surprisingly big impact on how you feel.

Have the long shower instead of the rushed one.

Do your skincare.

Paint your nails.

Deep condition your hair.

Put on the body lotion you usually save for "best".

Book the haircut you've been putting off.

Put on clothes that make you feel good — even if you're not going anywhere.

Set aside some time where taking care of yourself isn't squeezed between everything else.

You deserve to feel cared for by you, too.

🌙 Create a little ritual

Rituals can give us permission to slow down.

Light a candle. Choose a crystal. Pull a tarot card. Journal about what you're grateful for or what you'd like to let go of.

If spiritual practices resonate with you, create your own new moon or full moon ritual.

It doesn't have to follow anyone else's rules.

Make it yours.

📵 Put the world down for a while

We are constantly reachable.

Messages. Emails. Notifications. News. Social media. Someone always seems to need something.

Give yourself permission to disappear for an hour.

Put your phone on silent. Leave it in another room. Make a cup of tea and do something that doesn't involve a screen.

The world will still be there when you come back.

☕ Romanticise the ordinary

Use the nice mug.

Buy yourself the flowers.

Light the candle on a Tuesday.

Put fresh bedding on and get into bed ridiculously early.

Play your favourite music while you cook.

Sit outside with your morning coffee.

Watch the sunset.

Self-care doesn't always need to be something extra that you have to find time for. Sometimes it's simply making the things you already do feel a little more special.

💜 Check in with yourself

Every so often, ask yourself:

How am I actually feeling?

What do I need today?

Some days the answer might be motivation.

Other days it might be creativity, company, fresh air, an early night or simply doing absolutely nothing for a while.

Your version of wellbeing doesn't have to look like anyone else's.

And it won't look the same every day.

Your little moment of KoZi

Self-care isn't selfish and it doesn't have to be perfect.

It's the small choices we make to give a little bit of our energy back to ourselves.

A walk through a field.

A cuddle with the dogs.

Ten minutes with a craft kit.

A crystal in your pocket.

Fresh bedding.

A long bath.

A quiet cup of tea.

A moment to breathe.

Whatever brings you a little peace, a little joy or a little bit of you back...

That's your moment of KoZi. ♡
